Tahoe Truckee Fly Fishers
The Fly Fishing Club of the Tahoe/Truckee/Reno Area
This is a “late-spring” Group Fish on the Little Truckee River. For those of you new to TTFF or new to the Little Truckee River this is a great way to get familiar with the section of the Little Truckee River just east of the town of Truckee that runs between Boca and Stampede reservoirs. This is one of the top fly fishing rivers in the area in a beatiful area. As all catch and release, the rainbows and browns can become quite big and quite educated making for a challenging and exciting day of fishing.
If you are new to fly fishing, or just getting back into fly fishing, this a great outing to learn a few things and get comfortable fly fishing on this great local river. If you are super new to fly fishing, send me a note so we can get you up to speed before hand, be it casting, setting up your rod, what to wear, etc.
We are trying to “thread the window” of water flows, snow impacting road opening, insect activity, and feeding fish and the magic formula yields Saturday May 11. The flows will be likely a little high but not too high and the fish will just be starting to eat more aggressively. We will meet at the upper lot parking lot which is about 2.4 miles north of Boyington Mill Campground.
