Streamer tactics are an important tool for those anglers who fish the Truckee River looking for trophy rainbow and brown trout. Much like steelheading, you may fish all day without a grab, but you may also hook into the fish of a lifetime. Leader Formulas - Fly Recommendations - Access Areas - Local Inside Knowledge. Leaders, tippets, snacks, drinks, and handouts included. This is a novice to intermediate class for anglers who want to heighten their skills to the next level. The Truckee River's terrain is moderate to heavy at times with loose cobblestones, rocky terrai, and slippery conditions. Participating anglers should be acclimated to river conditions, being stable, and experienced when wading while covering water, runs, and riffles. Extreme caution is advised when fishing high water, and wading too deep is highly discouraged.
