Streamer tactics are an important tool for those anglers who fish the Truckee River looking for trophy rainbow and brown trout. Much like steelheading, you may fish all day without a grab, but you may also hook into the fish of a lifetime. Leader Formulas - Fly Recommendations - Access Areas - Local Inside Knowledge. Leaders, tippets, snacks, drinks, and handouts included. This is a novice to intermediate class for anglers who want to heighten their skills to the next level. The Truckee River's terrain is moderate to heavy at times with loose cobblestones, rocky terrai, and slippery conditions. Participating anglers should be acclimated to river conditions, being stable, and experienced when wading while covering water, runs, and riffles. Extreme caution is advised when fishing high water, and wading too deep is highly discouraged.

Tackle:
Rod Wt(s) 5 to 7wt. 9 to 10 ft. Fast action preferred for casting large streamers.
Lines Floating WF
Leader:5 ft to 7.5 ft in 2x or 3x (We will be making custom leaders too)
Tippet: 1X, 2X, 3X
Other: Personal vest with basic equipment so each angler can be self-sufficient while on the water while fishing.

Patterns:
Slump Buster (black, olive) 2-6, Bunny Leech (black, white, olive, burnt orange ) 2-6, Crayfish patterns 4-8, Trout Fingerlings 2-8
Other gear: Waders, Boots, Wading Staff, Rain Jacket Polarized sunglasses/Hat, Sunscreen, Camera.
Plan for that day’s weather: Spring storms and cold weather, to mild overcast or sunny days. Bring a chair for lunch.
Participating anglers must posses a 2020 fishing license on the day of the event!
