SFFCC Fish Plant

Volunteer Opportunity to help our friends at the San Francisco Fly Casting Club plant trout in their section of the Truckee River. This is a fun event to put a couple thousand fish in the river. The event will have many volunteers from the community and we would like TTFF members to contribute.
The job starts when the hatchery truck arrives. Some locations can be planted via a plastic tube directly in the river. At other locations, the volunteers form a line to pass nets of fish from the truck to the river. These lines can take up to 20 people depending on the distance from the truck to the river. Other volunteers (maybe 5 or so) are needed to be in the river to help orient some of the fish once they are in the river - turn them right side up, maybe a bit of revival.
Following the plant, the SFFCC provides a very nice lunch on their deck for all of the volunteers. These are the fish that the kids in our youth program will catch two weeks later.

Meet at the SFFCC on the Truckee River the morning of July 10 and pitch in. Bring waders if you want to be in the river, otherwise where sturdy footwear for working on uneven ground.
