This is a warmup Event for TTFF’s 3rd Annual Summer Series of Fly Fishing in the local Tahoe Truckee area for 2026.

The Summer Series is a number of regular (bi)weekly weekend morning meetups at one of the great local Tahoe Truckee fly fishing spots through the summer months. Each starts as an early 8-9am get together, an opportunity to learn a few things, meet a few other members, pick up on a few things from those who have fished these areas, and fish as long or short as you want on these classic Tahoe Truckee waters. The series is great for both beginners and advanced fly fishers, young and old, single or couple or family. The last two years we have had great mixes of all skill levels at all events making this a really good time and learning experience.

This year we will have a mix of both river and lake events. If you are new to lakes/stillwater and/or wondering if you should try, we have a number of float tubes and frameless pontoons you can try out. If you are new to river fly fishing or curious on different techniques, we also have a number of task specific rods be it dry/nymph/euro you can also try out if interested. If you are new to casting, just let me know and we can get you a “pre-outing skill builder” on the water before the outing to get you primed and comfortable on the water.

Note #1: What we learned last year is that as we get near the date, mother nature has the final say with water flows and water temperature, so there might be last minute location adjustments if needed. 
Note #2: We are hearing about dam work and low flows on the LT so cautious this year’s planning.
