Fishing the Five Fingers - Northern California
This presentation will provide you with insight into fishing the tributaries of California’s largest watershed, the Sacramento River! We will cover the history, biology, fisheries, and access to the enchanting tributaries of the Sacramento River. The waters that will be covered are Upper Sacramento River, McCloud River, Pit River, Hat creek, and the Fall River which offer endless opportunities a short drive out of Redding.
Guest Speaker - Paul Lenos
After college, Paul heard the call of the western waters and moved from the Great Lake’s region, to Northern California to start a career as a fisheries biologist. With a passion for wild trout and steelhead, Paul sent much of his time underwater snorkeling streams for work and often on the weekends as well.
Guiding fly fishing in Alaska and Northern California for the last decade Paul is fueled by a passion for sharing the craft of fly fishing. He has guided at Wildman Lake Lodge, Lava Creek Lodge, Aniak river Lodge in Alaska.
Expanding his fishing options, Paul is also offering hosted trips to some of The Fly Shop’s best locations.
Paul is currently guiding full time in Redding where he resides with wife and dog.
Paul is permitted to guide the Shasta Trinity National Forest, encompassing the McCloud and Pit River, and Lake Shasta, as well as federal permits for the Trinity River.
