An in-depth look at reading freestone streams. In this presentation Doug will cover several aspects of reading streams to locate trophy trout throughout the season. He will break down stream structure and how to isolate the type of water to look for

A California native Doug first started fly fishing in 1968 on O’Dell Creek in Oregon. Through many years of fishing streams and still waters in the United States, Canada and New Zealand he has developed many unique techniques. These techniques have proven to be extremely productive throughout the world. This is evident by his “trophy fish” gallery. He enjoys teaching and sharing his knowledge with fly fishers of all levels. He has traveled throughout the country presenting fly-fishing shows since 1982.

Doug is a California Guide and a Nevada Master Guide (#25845). He is owner of calvadaflyfishing.com  which include PyramidGuideService.com and TruckeeRiverFlyFishing.com. Doug is also a contract fly tier for Umpqua Flies and is a recipient of the Cal Bird Fly Tying Cup. He lives and is based in Reno, Nevada.
