The Tahoe Truckee Fly Fishers, "Fly Fishing Basic Skills Clinic" is scheduled for Saturday, July 15, 2017. It is intended for those with little or no experience and also for those wishing to brush up on their existing skills. It is open to TTFF members.

The clinic will be lead by the legendary Frank R. Pisciotta, the acknowledged “Dean of Guides” in the Tahoe Truckee region who will be assisted by experienced TTFF Club members.

Participants will be introduced to the basics of fly angling in a fun and very relaxed atmosphere. Upon completion of the clinic, participants should be able to pursue the sport at their leisure; making it as “simple or sophisticated” as they wish.

The angling topics discussed and practiced will be:

1) Fly Fishing Gear

2) Three Essential Knots

3) Two Fundamental Fly Fishing Casts

4) Trout Foods

5) Fly Selection

There is room for 6 participants which will be made available on a first-come first-serve basis with a $20 fee. Participants will need to bring their own fly fishing gear and lunch.
