Brian’s Bio

Not long after I graduated from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington, with a BS in Business Administration and Marketing, I moved to California to pursue a Ski Patrol Job at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort.  26 seasons later I am the Director of Avalanche Mitigation and oversee our Forecasting Team and the use of explosives, Gazex Exploders, Howitzer, and Avalaunchers for Avalanche Mitigation.   After a few years of construction work in Tahoe I felt change was needed.  I began exploring the waters of the eastern Sierra and launched Four Seasons Fly Fishing in 1997.  Based in Truckee, CA I guide the rivers, lakes, and streams of the north Tahoe area. In 2000 I expanded my range of guiding to include steelhead fly fishing trips on the Upper Klamath River in California the Rogue River in Oregon. Chasing steelhead with a two handed fly rod is one of my passions, and adapting these techniques to the pursuit of Truckee River trout is something that is really rewarding.   I enjoy guiding and instructing single hand techniques as well as Tenkara.  When I am not fishing I enjoy riding my mountain bike around the various trails of the Lake Tahoe area.
