Frenchman's Lake Groupfish
Friday, June 1, 2018, 8:00 AM until Sunday, June 3, 2018, 2:00 PM
We are full for camping at this time. You can still get your own site or just come out for one day or all. The Groupsite is reserved for June 1 to June 3. It handles up to 50 people in 12 vehicles so there should be plenty of room for all. We will split the $280 camping fee among the attendees.

Frenchman's Lake is a prolific fishery just an hour or so from Truckee. This is largely a boat, pontoon or float tube lake with lots of rainbow trout. Indicator nymphing is the typical action of choice with 6 weight and under rods with floating lines. A sinking line may also be nice for a change. Typical stillwater flies will be used including chronomids and callibaetis nymphs. A more detailed list will be provided to those registered.
We have Group camp site D at the Cottonwood campground at the lake. It is a large site to accommodate multiple trailers up to 35 feet as well as tents. We will plan for our usual Saturday night group dinner.
Last year early June was excellent fishing so we expect to find many willing fish. This is not a technical fishery so it is perfect for those new to stillwater fishing. Jon Baiocchi has also volunteered to give the club a briefing on the lake and current conditions at the time. This is one of Jon's favorite guide lakes so he will have the scoop!
If you haven't been on one of our campouts, you are encouraged to join this one as we have lots of room and it is close to home!
